Płońsk is a poviat town located only 60 km away from Warsaw, with which it is connected by a two-lane expressway, thus it takes only 45 minutes to drive from Płońsk to Warsaw. A great asset of our town is its location at an intersection of two main roads in Poland: the route no. 7 running from the south to the north, via Warsaw, and the route no. 10 running from the south-east to the north-west. The town covers 12 km2 and has a population of 23,000 people, 63% of whom are working people. As regards demography, Płońsk is ”the youngest” town in northern Mazovia. Płońsk has two primary schools, two middle schools, three groups of schools and a college. Owing to the nearness of such a big academic centre, i.e. Warsaw, the number of residents holding university degrees increases each year.
